The Best Spicy Feta and Olive Dip

Spicy Feta Olive Dip is sooooo addictive! When you whip it up it’s hard to not start snacking on it immediately. It’s so tasty it will have even the non olive eaters believers in no time. And best yet it’s very versatile and easy to make!

What do I need to make Spicy Feta and Olive Dip?

Really you just need a few ingredients, all of which you can find in most grocery stores.

  • We like to use a firm feta in block form. That way you can crumble into big pieces and it won’t break apart into a paste when you mix all of the ingredients
  • This recipe calls for pitted kalamata olives. However, you can substitute with green olives of your choice, or even black olives. Black olives won’t have the salty brininess we like with this but it’s a matter of taste. We also find that since a lot of people aren’t huge olive eaters kalamatas work well for big gatherings
  • We use roasted red peppers here but really you can use any color. You can buy them in a can or jar or follow this recipe to make them fresh for a better taste and texture. You can also add artichoke hearts if desired, or even hearts of palm, pickled cauliflower, or any number of veggies to give it texture and flavor. Fresh diced cucumbers work wonders also!
  • We add roasted garlic with chile flakes. In a pinch you can use garlic powder but the flavor won’t be as robust
  • We looooooooove parsley for it’s added earthiness and color of course. You can feel free to mix up the herbs, but keep in mind that some may spoil more quickly. We also use chopped scallion but for an extra oniony kick use red onions!
  • A great olive oil is the kicker here. We like to bring it all together!

Other uses for Spicy Feta and Olive Dip

This dip isn’t just for dipping! Spicy Feta and Olive Dip can also be used for a lot of other things. It’s great tossed in a salad of course, or served over grain bowls with quinoa. It can be added to shrimp salad chilled. Or you can even spoon it over pasta and pizza!. We also love pouring some over roasted chicken breasts at the end served warm. It goes great with rice! Got a piece of salmon but no ideas? Try this dip smothered on top.
